Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for the management and retention of a book of business.
- Maintain consistent touch points with customers as a means of servicing, retaining and proactively identify potential changes in business patterns.
- Responsible for completing, maintaining, and submitting a monthly sales forecast.
- Generate sample requests as needed.
- Daily use of CRM system for customer management.
- Review, enter, and confirm customer orders within 24 hours of receipt.
- Maintain and monitor open orders within our ERP system to ensure on-time order fulfilment.
- Generate freight quotes and coordinate logistics as needed.
- Generate customer specific shipping documents as needed.
- Work closely with the Sales, Quality, Finance, and Operations departments to fulfill customer inquiries and/or work through issue resolution processing.
- Work with the Finance team in the onboarding of new customers.
Requirements
- College degree
- 1-2 years of customer service experience (food/beverage industry is a plus).
- Experience managing 25+ accounts.
- Work well in a team environment where sharing information and open communication is critical to the overall success of the organization.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Adherence to our 24-hour internal and external response time.

Essential Job Functions:
- Proactive in developing new ingredients that provide a value-add functionality to a given application.
- Perform ingredient evaluations (benchtop testing, sensory analysis, comparative analysis, etc.) and submit case studies on all findings.
- Liaison with the sales team to provide technical applications support to customers and/or prospects.
- Manage the internal customer/prospect sampling program.
- Manage all Product Specification Sheets and BOMs including conducting annual reviews and developing new items as needed.
- Proactively collaborate with external suppliers to solve challenges and source alternative ingredients.
- Instrumental in qualifying new suppliers.
- Provide technical training to the sales team prior to the launch of new products.
- Provide research and development knowledge on new product trials.
- Provide scale up knowledge in the event a product increases production to full scale.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering or a closely related Applied Science.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the Food Ingredients Industry.
- Demonstrated understanding of ingredient development, processing, etc.
- A team player who works well in an environment where sharing information and open communication is critical to the overall success of the organization.
- Strong communication and self-management skills.

- Identify prospects, generate opportunities, and close business.
- Effectively manage an opportunity pipeline.
- Proactively manage, retain, and identify growth opportunities within key accounts.
- Maintain consistent communication and conduct annual business reviews with key accounts.
- Effectively utilize our CRM system (Sales Force) for maintaining all customer/prospect communication and opportunity management.
- Communicate effectively across departments to handle customer inquiries in a timely fashion.
- Responsible for completing, maintaining, and submitting quarterly and annual sales forecasts.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the market, industry trends, news, competitors, etc.
